Yep...we're in this boat.

It occurred to me mid last week that Sophie was not growing on me anymore. It was in fact, un-growing on me. So we had to return to the naming table.

Where are you on names? Already have names decided? Have a nice, long list? Or no freaking clue?!

Girl names seem to be quite difficult for us. None we love, only some we like.

Our current list:
Sophie
Poppy
Wednesday
Caragh (this is becoming a fav, pronounced Car+uh)

I was going back and forth for the longest time.. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Avalynn.... its different and you never hear it.... but my ENTIRE family vetoed it! Then I suggested Abigail, again that was voted down.

DH wanted an old fashioned name, and one that is not common. And I like old fashioned names... It's funny Sophia is common but not where we are... We don't run into many Sophia's... and DH and I both have fallenin love with it... and so has Hannah.

I think we're set on our names. DH said he isn't 100% on our boy name, but I'm hoping he doesn't change his mind because I'm beginning to grow attached to them. I guess we'll see on Friday when we find out if I have to worry about it or not!

Good thing we have lots of time to settle on names because I haven't even seriously started! Poppy is on my list from my daughter's pregnancy though, love the name!

Totally understand!, my DH and I have had Victoria picked out for a girl name forever. I love that name! And then out of the blue one day he says 'what about Ella'. At first I was heartbroken but now I'm just not sure...

Oh all these decisions to make.

We are having twins and already have 2 names for each gender picked out. It seemed that choosing names was quite easy for us.
This are our girl names:
Alianna Hannah
&
Aubree Elizabeth

These are our boy names:
Brody Raymond
&
Caleb Samiel

Hopefully we'll know the genders this Thursday, so we'll know which names we're using for sure!

Our girl name has been set for years. But its looking like we have to pick a boy name. The list is short, and Im not sold on any of them as a first name... I like Zane, Truett, Asher, Azrael, Rudy, and Holden...

No. We're failing at this naming thing. We have issues agreeing. I really love Wednesday as a name. Boys names are way harder for me than girls names. Ugh.

I think Poppy is cute! I personally know quite a few Sophias, and really like the name, but drew away from it myself due to the fact we know so many.

We've thrown a couple ideas on the table for each, but still struggling with the name thing too - I think it will be much easier once we know what we're having, so we only have to drill down to one!

We haven't even touched this subject yet. Unless you count me asking 'Have you thought about names?' and DH replies 'No, not yet.' But then you are talking to the parents who left the hospital with out DD officially having a name. We were pretty set in stone once we finally met her but there was some 'family politics' to be dealt with on DH's side. Very, very (very) Greek and traditional. ...and we were breaking the rules.

I'm a list person - so I have a rough list of ideas. Lots of girls names and very few boys names. If my gut is telling me right, we are going to need a boy name. Odds are we will eventually narrow it down to a few and settle on something when we meet him/her. Hopefully, before we leave the hospital!

I absolutely Love Penelope. DH would never go for it, sadly.

We have no girl names picked out, at all. Everything I like, DH doesn't. And he hasn't given any names yet, so I can't say if I like his choices or not. I think he's holding out hope that this will be a boy and we won't have to worry about it. LOL

I haven't really been able to come up with crap for names. I said in another thread that I usually leave it til later so the name doesn't get worn out/old but this time I'm panicking because I'm worried that "I've used up all the good names" for us. I have always loved the name Penelope also but it's true that alot of people don't like it, also Clementine/Clemmie(dh family name). I love Poppy but wouldn't use it, not sure why. I wanted to name my 2nd(10+ years ago) Olivia or use it as a middle name but MIL was dying of cancer so we used her name Alicia. I still love the name Olivia but it's SO common now...that sucks! I had a couple of boy names...Jack(my grandpa's name) and Anthony for my DH but, alas, no penis was to be had.

I've got a list of some names that we are fond of for girls:
Adelaide
Hazel
Maeve
and the one I am stuck on right now is Violet. Sounds good with the brother and sister so I would have a Sid, Estelle and Violet. I think it's beautiful.

For a boy we are stuck on Boone Wakefield. That one is figured out for sure.

Thinking the middle name of this one would be after one of my grandmothers. Violet Maxine or Violet Dorothea (my grandmother was Dorothy)

We've changed our name a couple times but the most recent is "Leah". Leah Marie.....i want simple, not extremly popular but not weird either. Marie is my middle name. This name is the first one i can really invision. I can totally picture a little Leah Marie runing around our house. All the kids really like the name and are calling her by name now.....so this might be THE ONE!
