Just wondering if anyone else here plans on homeschooling or is currently homeschooling their children?

We plan, too, havent done anything yet because DD is only 3.5 yrs and she has zero interest in doing anything other than playing with her baby dolls (she's such a girl!!) but we do read a lot of Sonlight books.

We're planning on homeschooling. I'm a certified teacher, so I figure why send them to school with 20 or so kids per class when I can do the same at home? Plus the home school groups in this area are amazing.

Yeah! Where are you at in Alabama, again? I was raised in Birmingham and lived in Auburn for 6 yrs for school and I remember there being a lot of great groups. We are in a co-op here. Dont know anyone yet because we just joined and, well, she's still only a preschooler LOL but I like it so far. Theres like 80 families in it!

We've got another year to decide for our oldest. I like the idea but would prefer a strong homeschooling network which I'm not sure we have in this area. Right now I'm teaching him at home - but he also goes to a Spanish Immersion preschool part time (3 hours, 4 days a week). I really don't want him to lose the ability to speak a foreign language, but my Spanish is no bueno.

I'd love to but I can't talk DH into it. Which is mostly okay with me because we have really great public schools here and I plan on being very involved either way.

We live in the Shoals right now, but who knows where we'll be after DH finishes seminary. Wherever he can get a church Hopefully we can find a good group wherever we go. The ones here go on all sorts of awesome field trips and have all kinds of electives. Heck, I halfway want to home school so I can learn some of the stuff they learn

That sounds like a neat preschool! It'd be hard without a good network, I'd be conflicted too if I couldn't find a good one in the area.

We want to homeschool ours. I was homeschooled and so were my sisters and now they homeschool their children. We have a lot of groups here in georgia too.

God bless you guys. There is no way I could homeschool my kiddos. I'm not even close to patient enough.

I don't *think* I will but this could change. I am going to be doing home preschool for sure and we will see about kindergarten. After that I am going to look for a private school around here somewhere likely.

Yeah we are in a co-op but also in our church pretty much everyone home schools, lol. Only one family has their children in school and it's a private Christian school, so it's nice to have the support.

We've discussed it a bit, but are still undecided. DH was homeschooled for a few years and he liked it. I think I would enjoy it, since I've always wanted to be a teacher and I just like the idea of them learning in a smaller setting with individualized attention. But, we have a really good school system where we live, so I'm not sure we'll do it. Good thing we have plenty of time to decide!
