So trying to register and figure out what I need/want... I'm thinking a pack and play with a bassinet for the first few months... Do I need one of these [Lifenest Sleeping System if it's a full size bassinet? The one I was looking at doesn't have the napper... just bassinet, changer and play yard. I could use some advice on this. I was thinking the arms reach co-sleeper, but I think it'll be too large for our home... what do ya'll think?

Welcome! I'm also a FTM, so I can't say from experience, but we'll be using a pack 'n play right next to the bed for her to sleep in the first couple months until she's sleeping longer through the night.

Welcome!

With my son, we used a pack n play with the bassinet for the time he was in our room before going to a crib. I will be doing the same this time. I cant get a picture of one like it, but this is about the same style.... http://www.target.com/p/graco-pack-n...i_detailbutton

Can you put a link to or a picture of the one you are looking at? Is it similar to this?

Welcome! I just bought a gently used Arm's reach co-sleeper about a month ago, and it's really not very large at all. In fact, it's definitely smaller than your average pack and play.

I would suggest a pack n play. They are good travel cribs (if youll be doing a lot of traveling) and when they are older they are good to contain baby for a bit. Bassinets are pretty much outgrown very quickly. Id LOVE to get an Arms Reach Cosleeper but havent found one for a good deal yet.

Neither of mine liked sleeping in the packnplay/bassinets, though, but some babies do like it. Mine either wanted to be right up on me or in their own space in their own room in a swing, lol.

I love my pack'n'play for traveling and for when the baby is really young because I can use it downstairs and for changing. I also have an Arms Reach Cosleeper that I love - it's the mini one which might be a good option if you don't have much space.
