How does everybody take their child's temperature? I take both of mine's rectally. Call me old fashion, but it is the most accurate way.

I take it under the arm...figure if that the way the peds office does it - than it should be fine for me.

We do the forehead (temporal, I think?) like his pedi's office. I love it. We also have a rectal one but I've only ever used it to help him when he was constipated.

That's what I was thinkin'. If the ear/arm is okay at the DRs office it's ok for me! I'd rather avoid sticking things up my kids butt if I can help it lol.[/b]

wow, i'm surprised by the amount of pediatricians that don't do rectal temp.s anymore. Both my daughter and son have had rectal temps at their doctors. My son was about 6 months old when they started doing it by arm or ear. I guess i figured it was still standard practice for infants at least.
