Those sippie cups with the soft spout? Has anyone used them? My SIL did with her last one for awhile, but now uses regular sippie cups.

Are they a better sippie cup to introduce between the breast/bottle and the regular sippie cup?

Opinions???????????

I tried lots of different cups when I started my son on the sippy cup, the hard ones didn't work, he refused to use them. So I got one with the soft spout and he really took to that. I think it all depends on the child, because my other 2 kids didn't have a problem using the hard one.

I haven't BTDT yet, but my two girlfriends that have toddlers both use the soft ones and really like them. The one took her dd off the bottle and put her on a sippie cup at 10 months. I think in all reality it's pretty much just a bottle with a different shaped nipple. I think when we get there, we'll try the soft one's first.

We use the sippies with the soft nipple, but for no particular reason. I just seemed to like them best!

I think they help with transitioning off the bottle, but after they get used to it they tend to get very leaky, so I only use them for a while then move on to the hard spout sippys. But I love them for transitioning!

Ditto. We got some soft ones as gifts at a shower so we'll try those first.

my son hated them. I think they were too close to a bottle for him. he refused to take it, and he'll only take the hard spouted sippies now.

My son won't use any sippy cup, including the soft spout kind. He's been using a cup and straw since he was about 8 months. I've periodically tried to reintroduce a sippy cup but he'll have none of that.

Hannah could have cared less while transitioning.... she did fine. As, long as she got her milk/ juice.

Emily... I had to use them with her while from the bottle to sippy cup. It was only for a while. Like a week, then I put her on a regular playtex sippy cup.

I think the sippies with soft tips are for infants and the hard tips are for toddlers. My ds used the soft ones until he grew several teeth and he uses the hard ones now. He chews holes in the soft ones.

That was a huge problem with the soft ones... mine used them as a teether!!! Talk about a mess if you didn't catch it in time.
