Hi ladies. My name is Mandy & my DS is Ethan (born 9-30-2008). I'm popping in from the Sept 08 PR. There has been some drama on our board lately, so I'm not sure how much I want to hang out there any more. Most of it has been disagreements over AP vs TP issues (CIO, co-sleeping, daycare, etc).
I'm 29 & DH, Mike, is 31; we've been married 5+ years. Ethan is our first baby. I think our parenting style falls more into the traditional category. We transitioned Ethan to his crib from a bassinet at about 4 weeks. We've had to use some CIO... he's not a cooperative sleeper. And we're kind of schedule people. Our little guy seems so much happier when he gets good sleep & knows what's coming during the day. I breastfeed, but am not militant about it. I believe in vaccinating my child. When he gets older, there will be rules and the expectation that he follows them (and consequences when he doesn't).
I guess I'm just hoping for another group of mommies to look to for advice and support without the drama & tension that seems to have cropped up in my PR. Hope this is the place. Thanks for reading this excessively long post...
