Which category do your kiddos fall into? Were they a surprise, planned or a 'planned surprise' (ie not trying, not preventing)

both of my girls were planned, but I have also had 4 losses, 3 of which were surprises & 1 was planned

Rachel was a planned suprise. I was trying then when I switched jobs I was TTP and ended up being pregnant already. Jamie was a complete suprise. I was on the depo shot and had no clue I was pregnant untill I felt a kick. I went to the OB and found out I was 24 weeks pregnant with a girl.

I voted for planned as our first two were planned.
Our third(and last)would fall into the planned surprise category. We werent trying(planned on waiting til Septemberish to actually try)but werent preventing either.

My first was planned and I got pregnant with her the first try. When we were trying for our second I had some losses and/or just didn't get pregnant. We finally decided to stop trying, sold nearly all of our baby stuff and then I got pregnant with Liz and it was a total surprise. But we were very, very happy and excited about it.

My husband and I wanted babies early on in our marriage, so we were pretty much just allowing God to give us a baby when he so chose. I was on birth control after my son was born, and then I stopped taking it and we tried natural prevention. Then we gave up and hoped for a girl. But we weren't actively trying. I was also pregnant with twins when I was 18, but we lost them at 15 and 16 weeks.

Yeah I thought the shot was working and did not question the no period part. The part that shocked me was I took a Pregnancy test before every shot so it should have shown a BFP when I was 2 months pregnant and it did not. I never has a BFP with Jamie. I had to beg for an ultrasound because the Dr. thought I was making this up. Sure enough she was there... That was a fun one to tell Mom.

The funny part was at 9 months I took another pregnancy test for fun and it came back negative.

Very planned. It took us 20 months to get pregnant so the surprise was that it finally worked!

My son was a "planned surprise". We weren't preventing but we're necessarily trying. We hadn't been preventing for a while and nothing had happened. I have PCOS so we thought we'd need some help to get pregnant. I had just moved to be with him again after boot camp and AIT school, and got pregnant within a week of being there! lol

With my boy on the way, he was definitely planned. We started trying when my son was about 16 months..I got pregnant after a couple months of TTC and ended up miscarrying. We got the okay from my doc to try right away and I used OPKs to find out when I ovulated..we did it..and bam! My little guy was on his way 3 weeks post mc.
