I am working part time right now which is good but I am Bummed it is not full time. Jamie is having the eye drifting AGAIN and I am worried when we go back to the doctor in October he will want to do surgery again. We are deciding weather or not to send Rachel to school.
Thanks for updating. I'm super bummed for you to hear that Jamie's eye is drifting again. I had a friend who had a lazy eye. Is that what Jamie has? I remember she had to wear an eye patch over her strong eye to strengthen the weak one. But I guess her doctor would have suggested that if he'd thought it would work.
How old is Rachel again? Preschool right? Does she qualify for headstart? Does she want to go to school?
Sorry it was so short. Rachel will be 4 next month. The preschool we sent her to last year wants $75 dollars a month for nine months and with my low pay I don't think I can afford it.
Jamie's eys condition is called Strabismus with Intermentant extropia. It basically is a neurological condition where the brain sends haywire messages to the eyes so it can focus with one eye only. She does not have the ability to see everything in one picture like we do. She has double vision and no depth preception. She will never see in 3D like we do. It is a crappy condition because even with all the surgeries they can do and all the corrective lenses it may just help cosmetically. We know if untreated she could go blind in one eye.
My Job is being a part time nurse in an assisted living center. I am only getting 4 days in a pay period so I am not making much more than my husband who makes minimum wage. It is making it hard to pay the bills. We will manage but it is a PITA going form a $600 every 2 weeks to $380.
