do you have a set amount you spend on your kids friends birthday presents, or does it depend on the child?

I usually have a set amount - at this age I don't think they really care what they get as a gift, so usually don't spend more than $10.00, but if it's one of Gaby's really good friends, we spend more

For the older 2 yes we do have a set amount, for the little guys, not so much mainly because they still don't know the value of money and they are happy with a $5 toy. I don't see why we should spend more than we really have to The older they get, the more expensive their tastes get

I seriously replied to this, and it disappeared. We stick to $25 and under. But now that DS is in preschool, and therefore more social and more likely to get invited to birthday parties we'll probably stick to $10 and under.
