I made 16 weeks of excuslively(sp) pumping. I never had enough milk to keep up with MB and she never latched. I did enjoy it wanted so badly to make it work that I gave myself PPD about giving her formula. I think if I'd been more patient had more time etc. we could've had a good BF relationship, but a happy mommy makes for a happy baby. So I will never regret my decision to stop pumping when I finally got down to getting only an ounce a day. With the stress and time consumption of pumping gone we were both happier!!
#1~3 mths, pumping. Supply sucked and he stopped wanting it.
#2~6 mths of hell, supply sucked and I had to feed him every other hour for a half hour each side and he was still supplemented.
#3~2 wks. Supply sucked and wasnt gonna have a repeat of the horror we had with number 2.
~My thanks to *Kiliki* for the siggy and Lucy S for the blinkies~
I've been breastfeeding since Nicholas was born. We had some major issues in the beginning with latching, and I was exclusively pumping for about 5 weeks and that was hell, but he finally decided to latch, even without the nipple shield, and we've had a great time since then.
I BFed DS for 5 months on the dot. I started having supply problems around 3 months and the morning he turned 5 months I woke up to no milk at all.
I plan to BF this baby as long as I can..or until 6-8 months, whichever comes first.
