Do you play along or do you think it is lying to your kids?

If you have older kids, do they still believe?

It's fun, so we'll play along. Troy's not old enough, but hopefully he'll believe. I never got angry at my mom and dad for telling us about Santa or the Easter bunny. I figured it out and played along (we still do!)

We will play along but I will make sure they know it's not true , I am Christian so of course I want my kids to know the real reasons for Christmas and Easter , but it's fun to play along with still , we did it that way growing up and it was still fun .

We play along and I don't plan on telling him it is make believe unless he asks. I figure, if he is old enough to ask, he is old enough to know the truth, but for now he's very happy to believe and IMO that is a huge part of getting into that particular "season".

We play along and I am dreading the day that they don't believe anymore. That will break my heart. To me, it is such a huge part of being a kid and I would never take that away from them.

We've decided that we will tell her the meaning of Christmas, and where the idea of Santa or the Easter Bunny comes from. We'll tell her when she asks... And not before. Joe's family is christian, and thus with the influence I know her grandmother will have she will ask how Santa ties into x-mas or the Bunny to Easter.

Play along with what??? You mean they aren't real?? J/K. Oh yeah, we do Santa, the Easter Bunny, and when it's time, the Tooth Fairy. BUT the Hurricanes also know the Christian side of Christmas and Easter. We have a birthday party for Jesus every year and this Easter I got something called Resurrection Eggs that have little items inside that symbolize different parts of the Resurrection story. So they know both meanings.
