when you had your child(ren), a doctor, doula or midwife? Would you pick the same way if you had another baby? Why did you pick the way you did?

I delivered in a hospital by my doctor. I would choose the same thing again because I believe that is the only option covered by medicare, and I haven't done any research on the benefits of having a midwife or doula.

I had my son in a hospital with a doctor and good thing I did because he was a c-section baby. I didn't get a choice as my husband was military so that's what I got, military hospital, military doctor since I wasn't high risk.

We're not having anymore kids so I really don't have to think about it, but I would do the same thing as I do not believe in doing VBAC so I'd be having another c-section.

With both boys, my OB delivered me at the hospital. I was GBS+ with both, and worried about infection.
(And my second son was five weeks early)

We are fairly certain we are done having children now, we feel very complete with our two boys, but if I was to have another, I would actually like to have an at home, water birth. Not that my husband would allow that, LOL, but that is what I would want!

I had an OB. I was very unhappy with my experience with her. I was not very educated on birth and didn't realize I had other options, such as a midwife/doula. Next time, I'd like a midwife and a doula, but I'm not sure, since I'm very strongly hoping for a VBAC, if I'll have to see an OB too.

I had a doctor, my regular OB/GYN with both girls. I had them in the hospital. Even being 4 years apart...I delivered them in the same room!!! #408! We thought that was kind of neat!

I guess I'm the odd ball on this one! I had my son at home with a midwife. Doctors and hospitals are sooo not in my comfort zone that it seemed to make the most sense, and it was a very safe option since I'm low risk. Actually I'm planning a homebirth again with the same mw for this baby.

I really wanted to have a midwife, but I ended up having my regular OB/GYN do it because I have had some troubles in the past and she was concerned about possible complications, so I let her do it and it went great. I am sorry you had a bad experience. That really stinks because it is something that is supposed to be a nice memory. My friend had a great experience using a midwife.

Same room 4 years apart is pretty amazing!

I think homebirths are really neat. I fall more into the high risk category, so it wasn't much of an option for me, but if it was, I would have strongly considered it... if I could convince DH. lol
