I had been having kidney problems and was in and out of the hospital due to pain and vomiting from my left kidney being partial blocked. On Friday, April 27th, my husband and I went back up to L&D because I was not keeping anything down and needed IV fluids once again. When they hooked me up to the monitors I was contracting about 1-2 minutes apart. They weren't very painful though. I threw up about 3-4 times while in L&D even after they gave me anti-nausea meds through my IV. My doctor came in around 2pm to check me. She said that I have been contracting all afternoon so she wanted to see if the contractions were making me dilate. She checked me and right away she said... "Okay, you're dilating... you're in labor... guess we are going to book the OR.. see you in there!" and walked out of the room. I didn't even have a second to ask her questions. My husband and I looked at each other and freaked out... I was only 35 weeks 6 days along. I was scheduled to have a repeat c-section on May 21st at 39 weeks and 2 days. I didn't have my hospital bag packed... Aubrey's was packed but at home. We immediately freaked and called our parents to let them know it was baby day!! Then they wheeled my bed into the OR room, did the spinal, and laid me down on the OR table. I remember saying " Did you start yet?" and they were like "Oh honey, you are wide open!" I was thankful I didn't feel it and then the next thing I know they said "You will feel some pressure now... here comes baby!" Aubrey Blakelyn was born at 4:14pm weighing 6lbs 9oz and was 19 inches long. She came out screaming! They sung happy birthday to Aubrey in the OR which I thought was so sweet. My husband went with her to the nursery and I went to recovery after they stitched me up. When I got to my room and Aubrey was brought to me we immediately nursed and bonded. She is absolutely perfect, no breathing issues, no NICU stay, no jaundice... just my perfect little baby girl. I'm so in love and she completes our family. <3
