On Sunday DH and I were very busy moving our dressers and clothing from downstairs to up (had been remodeling). I was fine all day, no contractions , nada.
I woke up at 1:30am and went to the bathroom, when I got back to bed as I sat down I leaked and soaked my underwear. I went back to the bathroom, peed again and my plug was in the toilet. I wasn't sure if my water had broke or not. I felt fine, wasn't having contractions ect. I called L&D and they suggested I come in to be checked out. We took our time (showered ect). Got the hospital at 3am on the way there I had 3 good contractions. When they checked me out they said my water hadn't broke (they did the paper test thing) , checked my cervix I was 2-3cm and about 70% effaced
Once I was on the monitor I started having contractions every 3-4 mins and they were all in my back
They watched me for an hour and said they would call the Dr. to see if he wanted me to stay....luckily he did.
Around 5am I had some stadol and tried to rest and was then going to walk....I was so out of it from the stadol I couldn't get up to walk though.
Around 7:30a I was 3-4cm , 70% effaced and decided for the epidural. Things went slowly. At 11am the Dr. came in broke my water, at 12p they started pitocin, and at 4:45p I was ready to push. I only pushed for 45mins. My little (ha) boy shot out like a cannon ball along with a tidal wave of water (my mom thinks I had 2 bags of water???) I tore a bit 2nd degree he said. He weighed 9lbs 4oz, 22 1/2 in long. He has light brown hair and blue eyes (for now) and I can't snuggle him enough
