I actually had a very easy and wonderful birth experience.
I went to my OB appt on Wed morning at 9:15 and the doctor confirmed that my water had indeed broken that morning when I got up at 6am and I was 4cm dilated so he sent me to the hospital.
I came home and got our stuff and met Seth at the house and we headed over. We arrived at 11:45am and was given Pitocin at 2:30pm. I began contracted very quickly and by 4:45pm they were coming 1.5 minutes apart and I requested the epidural (which was a life-saver). Once the epi was given, I was feeling wonderful. The midwife checked me at 5:15pm and I was still 4cm dilated and 90% effaced and since my water was only leaking that morning, she broke my water. The nurse checked me less than an hour later and I was 5cm. By 7:25pm I was 7cm. 15 minutes later I felt tremendous pressure so Seth called the nurse and when she checked me again, I was 10cm and the baby's head was right there. I began pusing at 7:45pm and within 41 minutes little Sophia Julia was born at 8:26pm weighing in at 6lbs, 9oz and 19 inches! I was able to watch the entire birth in the mirror and it was just so amazing....just like our little girl!!
