I was set to be induced at 37 weeks and 3 days. Of all days, September 11! I went in at ten oclock and started the whole pitocin. Man, that stuff wrecks havoc on you, I swear, lol! Nothing exciting happened until my doctor came in at eight oclock the next morning and broke my water. I got my first (yes, first) epidural a couple minutes later. The pain went away for about two hours and then came back with a vengence. Another epidural and three hours later I was told I might have to have a C-Section! Nothing interesting more happened until about five thirty that afternoon. Doctor came in, examined me and told me I was going to have a baby soon. I started pushing at five fourty five and my son was born at 6:02 pm on September 12! He was doing fine, but alas, I was not. I had lost over two pints of blood and my uterus failed to continue contracting after he was born, so it had to be manually contracted. (man, that hurt) My blood pressure dropped very low and I passed out on the doctors! I also had what they call "a fourth degree tear" I had over fifty stitches and was pumped full of stool softeners ( I had to take those for the next two months!) His blood sugar was kind of low when he was born, but elevated when he ate for the first time. I was in the hospital for a total of three days.
