Hi my name is Meghan and this is my birth story for my 2nd son Wyatt Raymond. I was induced early because i was high risk due to previous medical conditions. So I went in on the 19th at like 7 PM and had cervidil put in and then I went home. I had very minor contractions (felt like period cramps) all through the night and I had to go back at 8 AM the next day to be officially induced. So I go in and they check me and I am 3 CMs but I am still not in any pain. At around 10 AM they finally start the pitocin and I get my own room. I had been in the triage area because every room was taken. So I start having mild contractions nothing too bad and they keep upping the pitocin. The checked me about 4 PM and I am 5 CMs and then at 5 PM I am starting to be in alot of pain so they check me again and I am 6 CMs. At 6 PM I get the epidural. I wanted to lay on my right side so I could see the TV so they get me on my right side and leave and Wyatts heart rate drops down to 88 so like 7 people come running into the room and flip me very quickly and his heart rate returned to normal. They dont check me again until 12:00 PM and I am 8 CMs. They turn off the epidural so I can feel when I need to push at 12:30 I am at 10 CMs. I push 9 times and Wyatt was born at 12:45 AM on 09/21/06. He had the cord around his neck 2 times and wasnt breathing when he was born so he was rushed to the nurses who got him up and going very quickly. He was 8 lbs 9 oz and 18 1/2 inches long. He now wieghs at 9 months 18 lbs 11 oz and is 28 inches long

Sounds like a pretty decent labor experience, scary about the cord!

Welcome to the Sept PR!

Welcome! I never realized how common it is for the cord to be wrapped around their necks. Glad it worked out ok!

Thanks for the welcome I never realized how common it was either. I was disappointed because with neither of mt kids I was able to hold directly after they were born. But I am just glad he was ok.

Welcome!! Sounds like you had a fairly good labor experience. Although it must have been pretty scary about the cord.
