Will you be buying one? I know the cheap ones from Walmart and Target are a waste of money, but they sell some higher end ones that work pretty good at home around $100.

I borrowed one with my first 2 pregnancies and loved being able to listen to the heartbeat daily from around 10 weeks on. I'm thinking this may be one of my first purchases.

If you already have one what make and model do you have?

I've never bought one. My first midwife really discouraged me for buying one. She said that sometimes it can hard to find the heartbeat because th baby moes or something and then moms freak out (with good reason) and rush to ER only to find everything is fine. Then they get a $500+ ER bill.

I've always wanted one, though! I'm going to do some online window shopping now...

I rent from www.babybeat.com and have always been able to pick up the HB at 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 weeks. I would be a mess with worry without a doppler.

I have lost the HB before and sad to say my baby had died. Having the doppler gave me a certain peace. Knowing I did nothing wrong those days leading up to that. Without the doppler I also would have though everything was fine for those two weeks until my water broke. Having the chance to say goodbye while my baby was still apart of me was very comforting.

With Noah and losing him at 16 weeks, knowing he was alive the night before I went into labor was a different kind of comfort.

So for me a doppler is a must and gives me a ton of reassurance when I feel the need to check on the baby

^ Ditto... I didnt have one my last pregnancy so I won't this time around either. However if you feel like you'll have more peace of mind with one, then go for it!

Hello ladies! I am still waiting to see if I am pregnant to join the group. I wanted to let you know you can get a Sonoline B off of ebay around $50. I got it for my last pregnancy and it showed up sadly after I had mc. My friend was pregnant around the same time as me so I have tested it out a bunch on her. They are awesome. She said that mine was better than her doctors. The reviews are great to and people have posted some videos on youtube on getting a heartbeat very early with it. Hope this helps.
