I took to tests on Monday, and they were both positives, but both on the faint side.
Today I went to my OB/GYN for my yearly exam which I had scheduled months ago. When they tested my urine, the first test came up negative. They used a different brand test and it was positive, but faint.
Since I was there, she did an U/S- I'm only 4 weeks so she didnt think she'd be able to see anything, and she was right. She sent me for blood work to get my levels checked (I find out the results tomorrow). I'll be going back in a few days to get blood work done again.
She assured me not to worry, I'm just really early on thats why my urine tests are so faint. I'm having symptoms- bouts of nausea, sore breasts.
Should I be at all worried? She assured me a faint positive on a urine test is still normal at this point... I guess we'll know when the bloodwork comes in.
Do not be worried, numbers will tell. My period was due today and I just got a very light positive......I am going to wait til Monday to call my doctor...I want to see the lines get darker this weekend.
hCG numbers can vary so much that faint tests are nothing to really worry about at this point. Remember, most hyper sensitive tests register a positive at 25 mIU and the normal range for 5 weeks is anywhere from 8 - 7,000 mIU! So some women still don't get bright positive, or a positive at all, at 5 weeks!
