I went to the ob/gyn on wednesday for my annual check up. Of course I told them that I had just gotten a faint +pregnancy test, and when they tested my urine it came up faint too so she sent me for bloodwork just in case. I never had any blood work done when I was pregnant with my daughter, so I have nothing to compare this to.
She just called with my readings: 38 at what my best guess was no more than 14dpo. Dr said that was lower than she would have expected and could mean I'm just very early on, or the start of a miscarriage. I get more bloodwork done tomorrow. Can't wait to hear the results. I'm not trying to worry too much bc I know the numbers vary greatly, but its so hard not to compare. Again, I'm not even sure when I ovulated so I'm hoping I'm just earlier on than the Dr suspects.
As a side note, I've been POAS almost every day this week and the line is getting darker and darker.
I would say if the line is getting darker and you are using the same type of test, you levels are rising. do you know when you could of ovulated? You could of late and you are just starting out. Happy thoughts mama!
Yeah. I would guess late ovulation or implantation. Try not to stress too much. The levels vary so much that it's really not a good indication of whether or not the pregnancy is healthy. A better indicator is if your numbers rise at your next draw! Good luck and KUP!
Thanks for the reassurance.
I'm pretty positive I ovulated late, and could very well have implanted late too. I was still getting negative FRER's a week ago (last friday). It wasnt until Monday morning that I got a faint positive on the Answer test.
I'm trying my best not to panic. I go in the morning for more bloodwork... and of course I have to wait until Monday for the results! Uggghhh!
Well, another Dr from the practice called me to give me my numbers. Must have been some miscommunication that someone had already called me. I was able to ask a few more questions... He said its a good sign that I'm not cramping or bleeding, but that my level of 38 was "barely detectable". That didn't make me feel too good.
If you ovulated late, though, 38 may still be totally normal for where you actually are in pregnancy. I'm sorry that you didn't get a very high number like I know you wanted, but it's not over yet. Will you go in for another draw?
38 isn't barely detectable. It's a great starting number for what looks like a later ovulation. 5 or 6 would be barely detectable :/ anything over 25 has always been what I thought they considered positive for pregnancy. Your tests look great

If you would like to see pictures of my sweet (but tiny) boy they can be viewed at www.caringbridge.org/visit/noahdarrohn they aren't the easiest pictures to look at but I am willing to share them with anyone who would like to see them <3
Hang in there! Everyone is right you probably just o'd late. I think sometimes the doctors or nurses say things to people with out realizing what impact they have on you. I also think some Dr's are still under the impression women o on day 14 which as we all know is not the case. Your tests look awesome!
