I had mine done just for confirmation. I had to request it, there was no "reason" for having it done. But it did make me feel better.

Yeah. I have never known my hCG number with either of my other pregnancies (I didn't even have them done with my second). It can be a nice reassurance to see those numbers shoot up from one blood draw to the next, though!

KUP on what your numbers are!

Good luck! I'm going to try to get in for a blood test, but I don't think that they'll do it. I've obviously not quite figured out if it's more stressful to know or not know. Hahahaha

When I called to request mine the nurse was rude to me. She said, "and why do you want to have blood work done?" I was annoyed and she could tell. My Dr (who I loved) moved out of town and I am so annoyed I have to see someone new.

My dr's office told me it was not necessary. Lol maybe not to them but it was to me. They said to come in but there was no guarantee my insurance wld pay for it. That was a chance I was willing to take.

i think it is for an ease of mind...and i think if it is requested it should be done and covered....the doctors can write anything to the insurance companies for it to be covered....for instance "bleeding" or something along those lines.

i never even thought about it til what i went through a few months ago, and i wish i would of had it done sooner so i could of prepared myself better, i knew my dates were not adding up to things, and if i would of seen early on things were not doubling i could of been more mentally prepared.
