My hubby just informed me that if we have a boy we will name him maximus.. please tell me I am not the only one who thinks it is the worst name ever. I should have never told him he can choose the name of our last baby.

When we were discussing names for our first, we really liked a lot of unusual names, but nothing really stood out. DH said, "I want it to have a good, strong sound. Something definite! Something like...............DESKLAMP!................Heeeey yyy-" "NO! We are NOT naming our kid Desklamp!"

Maximus doesn't sound so bad now, does it?

I don't think it's bad. But if you don't like it, that's all that matters.

I think it's kinda cute. One baby name a friend wanted to use for their boy was Tyre. Yes, pronounced like "tire." not a fan.

We don't have any names picked out. We like unusual, though. I do think that Maximus is cute. It might grow on you!

I dont think Maximus is that bad. I could think of plenty that are worse! In general, its kinda cute. To me, granted-I have an association with this name already, its a bit overcompensating. My ex, a little guy who was overcompensating in just about every area of his life, named his son Maximus.

I don't really like it either but I personally wouldn't call it the worse name in the world lol. I guess it would be cute if you called him Max. I will never agree to let DH name our child all on his own because he would come up with something horrible too!
