Agreed, there may just be nothing to see yet. Crossing my fingers and sending you tons of sticky dust.

I'm also hoping that it was just too early. I have everything crossed that the next appointment is MUCH better. Your betas have been good! I would be holding onto that right now. When is your next appointment? Hugs. I AM sorry that it didn't go like you wanted it to. But you're not out!

I hope to was just too early. Like I mentioned in another post, my midwife really, REALLY discouraged me from getting an u/s until 7 weeks. I wanted to do one asap after i passed those clots, but she said it would be best to wait, that each pregnancy is different and sometimes you can't see much of anything until then. She said even then, there are no guarantees, even in a perfectly healthy pregnancy.

Remember, little beans are only a millimeter or 2 at 5 weeks. That's pretty darn tiny! I hope everything is fine. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Hang in there, sweetie!

Thanks girls!!! Love you all! My next U/S will be towards the end of next week (7 weeks). It just throws me off to be told that my baby bean is 2 weeks younger than he/she is. I looked at my calendar and can't figure out how that could have happened. I hope it catches up!

And I hope that if it's going to end, it's over with sooner rather than later. I'm not going to try anymore if this one doesn't take.

I went in on Monday for my first u/s and just saw the sac. I thought I was 5wks 5 days, but the u/s tech thought it looked more like 5 wks 2 days. The doctor and u/s tech keep trying to say it was perfectly normal and everything looked healthy, but it was still a hard thing to see an empty sac. I have been discouraged since the appointment and wished I could have waited. I am going back next tuesday for another u/s on 5/15 and I am nervous there still wont be much to see. Dr. wanted me in right away to confirm the pg and make sure I was on certain meds or else I would have wanted to wait a week or so. I am still worried about my next appointment because its still so early.
I hope you see something at your next appointment. I read a lot since Monday, and saw so many success stories so it helped to see that.

My dr waits until 7 weeks too. I'm anxious but I completely trust her that she knows best and there isn't much to see until then.

I am sorry to hear the ultrasound was less than what you were hoping for. Did they give you any information about whether or not your dates were off or anything along those lines. I have my fingers crossed and you are in my thoughts.

Hi Wendy - nah, they said it's too soon to lose any sleep over it though! My cycles are wacky, and wouldn't you know this was the first month I didn't bother with OPK tests. And even those I am starting to distrust too. I guess I don't know when I conceived, but it had to have happened within that one week stretch mid-cycle.

Jules - I am sure all will be well with your little sweet pea! I look forward to hearing about your next U/S! I wish I could have waited too. Oddly, I think I'll be able to focus better at work now, so that's good. I've been so distracted and excited lately! It's morbid, but I'm kinda assuming I'm going to lose this one, but hoping that I don't. It's out of my hands. At least I'll get some time off of work if that happens. :\

Sorry that the scan wasn't what you expected. Did the doctor think it was still a viable pregnancy just too early?

He said it's just too early to know. The tech didn't say so, but I got a vibe of "why are we doing this"? Oh well, I am going to try to forget about it until next week's U/S.

Wait!! I just had a thought! Do the ultrasound techs age babies by fetal age or gestational age???

By gestational age (my LMP), yesterday I was 5w5days (he said 5w4d, but whatever!). By fetal age, the bean was, give or take, 3w4d.

The tech told me it was measuring at less than 4 weeks. Which aging method did he mean?? If it could be the second one, then I would totally be on track!! Oh!!! Help! lol!

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHA You are WAY more patient than I am. I would be on the phone RIGHT NOW getting someone to read that report to me! Hahahahaha Different u/s techs do it differently, so you could be on to something! CALL! CALL! CALL!
