I have not been to my first doctor's appointment yet, and cannot get a straight opinion on lifting limits in early pregnancy. Can I lift a laundry basket? A few bags of groceries? I have heard everything from 10 pound weight limit to whatever is comfortable unless the doctor says otherwise. Thoughts?

Boy I was lifting some pretty heavy flower pots up steps today. I carried my kids throughout my pregnancies so I carried a lot heavier then 10 pounds my entire pregnancy.

In general, at this stage, you should be able to lift anything you want to if you're not a high risk pregnant woman. Even throughout pregnancy, if you have no complications, you can still lift up to 25-35 pounds or so without causing problems!
