I know a LOT of people HATE our boy name we picked out. "Giaxon". Slightly better than what my sister just named her first born son . . . "Harvey".
But in comparison to some of these names . . . 102 of the Most Unusual Baby Names of 2011 – Infographic | Kid Crave
I don't think we're doing TOO bad in the naming department!

How do you pronounce Giaxon?
OMGosh one of the names on there is Penisimali. I can't figure out how to say that or what it could possibly mean (if anything!).
YIKES that's quite an interesting list!

Eh. Its whatever a lot of people asked me to go more traditional with xanden. But I've never once regretted his name and they all fell in love with it when they saw the little face the name belonged to!

Haha! I was just looking at that on pinterest last night! How sad for some of the kids! I like Giaxon! (wouldn't use it since we go with traditional names, but I like it!)

Those are... interesting. Personally, I think "Moo" and "Eh" are better middle names, than first names...

Wow those are AWFUL. And sadly I know a girl that used the Analee lol. My mother-in-law doesn't like our top choice of boys names (Landyn), but then again she also wanted us to name a girl Shyla (sp?), which would never ever ever happen, so her opinion isn't really going to be taken into account lol.

Like "Jackson". I know a lot of people dislike alternative spellings. I personally don't care too much. Penismali sounds more offensive than say Symphanie!
People offer up alternatives to Giaxon, but I like Jackson, but we've already used the 'J' for Jaylen's name. Our #1 rile is they can'e have the same first initial. It just makes large family labeling easier. I can write their first initial on things and they know it's theirs.
S, R, M, L, K, J, E, A, ?G? OR P next!

Is it pronounced "Jackson" I think the pronunciation will probably be the most difficult with that name. I've seen a lot of weird names and I like unusual. When I named my son Brycen like 4 others copied me after and I was so mad! I want something original but all I like so far is the most common name Olivia...

Yes, like "Jackson". Giaxon using the Gia like in "giant" or the 'gi' sound like in giraffe, or even gigalo. Like I said though, Giaxon is better than Penismali!
I guess it depends on one's ability to understand the English language, I've noticed. I admit it's a fairly made up name, but I personally don't think it's so out of this world like Orangejello or ****head or even Penismali! And YES those are ALL real names!
We were kicking around name ideas too, and I was surprised when some of my top names were on the top 5 list. We also like Olivia and we even like Charlotte, but in the top 5 or top 10 names of 2012. They are really picking up in popularity.
We've instead settled on Peyton Avery for a girl's name. Ironically we now have 2 girls with original "boy" names! Jaylen is normally a boy name too, but when I went looking for J names back then I only found it in the girl section so I didn't even think it was a boy name. It wasn't until after she was born.
Now Peyton, most people know Peyton Manning but it's such a unisex name now, as is Jaylen.

Ahhh ok. After saying it a few times I thought Jackson might be one of the ways to say it. At first glance I kept seeing Gee-a-zon. I do like the name Jackson.
I like the idea of having their own first initial. That's cute! We have 2 J's, 2 M's and a P so far so that's out here.

I don't like unusual spellings or nontraditional names. That said...it's your kid! Who cares what anyone else thinks? I don't share my name choices with real life people for that reason.

Those poor kids in those articles! lol
When picking a name, I try to remember this is a person I'm naming who has to grow up with the name I choose. I try to think about me having that said name & how I would like it in every life situation.

We like unusual names, but not crazy names for our kids. I don't want to have to explain too much, but I don't want 20 kids to have the same name in their classes, if that makes sense. We went with middle-of-the-road names for our kids, but I REALLY liked a few extremely unusual names for them. When we met the kids, however, those names simply didn't fit.
I do not want people in my business when it comes to names. It's none of their business; YOU will be the one saying the name over and over, so YOU have to like it.
I do have to tell you that I keep reading "Giaxon Blu" as "Glaxon Blu" and thinking how cool that is, like a robot name.
Like I said, I really do appreciate unusual names.
