I had a job really young (13) so I bought a lot of random stuff on my own, but the first bigger purchase I made on my own was an OLD iMac off ebay (one of the colored ones, back in the day). It was awesome I LOVED having my own computer.
Thank you Bokkechick for my beautiful siggy!
Always Remembering Our Baby Angels - 4/2011 and 4/2012
I always saved my money when i was little. We would walk uptown and get phosphates at this old drugstore soda fountain for 35 cents- it makes me sound old, but it was the late 80's. I remember buying a Cabbage Patch doll at another store and paying with all ones. Lol! Then I carried the big box all the way home. I was probably 8. I thought I was rich.
I remember my first job was working part time at a graphic company my dad worked for. I assume the first thing I bought was clothes. I was about 15 at the time and that was the only thing that mattered to me. Clothes and make up!
I started working at 14 and the very first thing I bought was a sony discman. I bought it from a thrift store for $5. It worked great but the battery cover was missing so I also had to buy a roll of duck tape.

My best friend and I used to walk to our neighborhood pharmacy with our allowance, and buy penny candies (bazooka gum, individual now n laters, etc.) Later, we "graduated" to walking to the 31 Flavors across the street (i.e. when we got more for allowance), to buy ice cream cones instead!
