and I am ALL smiles. So DH couldn't make it because he double booked us and something work related. I'm ok with him not going because I knew today would just be labs and listening to the heartbeat. So it took a good minute or two to find the heartbeat on the doppler. I felt like I couldn't breathe otherwise I would miss it, it was that soft. Baby was beating at a healthy 152, down from 174 at the 11 week appointment. I have the three minute session recorded on my phone for DH.
Then I spoke with the mid wife and she just gave me a run down about the weeks to come. I was told to go to radiology and schedule my u/s which they will do between 18 and 22 weeks. Well I get to radiology and all she does is take down my number and says "someone will call you".

That's it?? Someone will call me??

Can't we just go ahead and make an appointment 3 weeks from now when I'm 18 weeks?

So hopefully the lady read the joy all over my face and will squeeze me in at the quickest available time and date.
The midwife told me that the u/s would be my next appointment and then I'll see a Dr. again at 24 weeks. Oh I also gave 2 tubes of blood for a quad screen and CF screen. She said results take up to 3 weeks but sometimes come back very fast. We have no history on either side of the family but DH really wanted me to do the screening. She said unless results are something to worry about then we'll discuss them and the radiology results at the 24 week visit. Oh and then I asked her if radiology will be able to explain what we're seeing on the ultrasound and she said no!! Once again if there's anything odd going on she'll give me a call to schedule a followup otherwise we'll discuss at 24 weeks. That's kind of scary, ya'll agree?
Oh and I also asked her about my appetite. I haven't gained any weight, kind of a shock because I'm not eatting extremely heathly. I'm missing a lot of veggies and fruits because I don't really have an appetite. She said not to worry because the baby will get it's nutrients from whatever I had before it came along and whatever I am able to eat. I also asked about headaches, I got them frequently before the baby and now I get them everyday. She said it's higly related to water intake in pregnant women and stress and all the craziness that my body is experiancing. She said if I up my water intake and that doesn't work and tylenol doesn't either then to come back and they'll give me something stronger.Wow I thought this would be a simple update but I guess the way the midwife worded things, she's got me all concerned.
All in all great appointment. Glad to know my LO is growing and comfy inside of me
