So my son picked up hand foot mouth while we were in Wisconsin. He is in so much pain he can't eat anything and even water bothers him. Last night he got up 7 times. He would cry the entire time while I rocked him until he fell back to sleep 10 minutes later. He has been so unbearably cranky because there is no antibiotic for it because it is a virus. All I can give him is tylenol or ibuprofen for the pain, but it doesn't seem to be working. Anyway I think I have caught it. I have a sore throat and mouth. Now today I noticed a blister appear on my palm. At least the risk is very low for the baby if I do have it.

What a bummer Sorry you guys have to go through this. This is the last thing you need to deal with when pregnant! Hopefully everyone recovers quickly.

We have been fighting it here too. My 21 month old just got over it and my 3 yr old got it today. I had a sore throat last week when Daniel first got it.

On 1/31/12 at exactly 16 weeks pregnant Noah came too soon. He was our 7th loss
If you would like to see pictures of my sweet (but tiny) boy they can be viewed at www.caringbridge.org/visit/noahdarrohn they aren't the easiest pictures to look at but I am willing to share them with anyone who would like to see them <3
On August 2, 2012 we lost Sarah at 17 weeks. She was our 8th loss Her pictures can be viewed at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/sarahdarrohn
There is no known explanation for my losses.

I love Wisconsin but that's not a very fun souvenir to come back with. I hope he has a speedy recovery and that your symptoms go away quickly as well.

I didn't realize it was that bad! My oldest had it as an infant, but it must have been mild. She ran a slight fever, but didn't have any other noticeable symptoms beyond the rash. Good luck! Hope everyone is getting better all the time!

Ugh that sounds terrible, poor fella! Prayers that he gets better soon and that you don't get it! It is reassuring that the risk for the baby is low though...less anxiety in that regard.

Hope he's doing better
