So you guys remember I was the one obsessing about the Ramzi Method of early gender prediction by placental location, right? I'm still obsessing.

By the Ramzi Method I am predicted to have a girl!!! Since I won't have my anatomy scan until mid Sept. to confirm, I figured I could pass some time by further obsessing on your u/s's if you'd like.

So post away. Ramzi method is best used between 5-9weeks I think. NT scans are usually not able to be used in Ramzi method, but can be used with the "Nub Theory." Also, you ladies who have already fou d out post to see if it was true for you!

Of course this is all just for fun. I am not a doctor or ultrasound tech....

I thought I would make a list, because I keep seeing gender reveals and wondering if I guessed right or wrong or at all. I'll try to update this from the posts in the DDC but if you get a chance to update me in this thread that'd be great!

You're looking for the area around the outside of the sac.... you want to see where the placenta will be forming. Sometimes it's thicker and lighter and more formed.... (you can sort of see an outline) where it will be. Some are easier than others. It's best if you confirm with your u/s technician that she is viewing your uterus in transverse plane, and you need to ask "Is the right of the screen/picture the left of my body?" It usually is in early u/s, but sometimes not.

Here are my early U/S pics. Very early, though (9 weeks). And this was an abdominal U/S, not transvaginal.

My original gut feeling was girl, but as I get closer and closer to the big u/s, I am feeling more like squiggle is a boy... A friend of mine guessed boy after seeing my 11week u/s pics too..

My gut is saying boy, but I'm not buying it. My gut lied to me the last time around.

I would love to have a little boy and DH is convinced this is our last baby and, hence, last chance for a boy (I'm not so sure ). I am trying to convince myself that it's a girl so I won't be too disappointed if my instincts are off again. Either way, I'll be happy with a healthy baby, but I have to prepare myself mentally just in case my gut is wrong.

I TOTALLY and utterly understand where you are coming from, I promise. Even though Ramzi says girl for me, and that does excite me, I am still keeping my perspective and visualize that possible boy too. I was sort of taken aback when the u/s showed boy with Callen too, and I don't want to go through that again.

Here is your doodle.


The study says that 97% of boys' placenta/chorionic villi are on the right. It also states, and I've noticed that boys placentas mostly at the bottom, are more often boys..... Top, girls.

Yes! I am Technohippie on there. It seems people are very good with nubs on there, but apparently there are a lot of misnomers out there about the Ramzi Method, so a lot of women are guessing based on totally wrong things. There used to be a girl Alsestis who was really good at it, but she doesn't post there anymore.
