I'm going to wait to use them until I start to really feeling it. However if I see someone use one of those spots who doesn't belong there I for some reason FLIP OUT! I was at the store and there were only two mother spots and of course 2 big fat mercedes were parked there so I decided to wait because I had a gut feeling. Off course out come two men and get in them...that's when this mommy goes into a tire slashing frenzy. GO back to taking up 3 parking spots at the back of the parking lot A HOLES! end rant
Hy-vee (local grocery store) has them for new and expecting mom's. I've used them when pregant and when I have a new little one. I don't use them until I look pregnant though because I don't want any funny looks from strangers.
I haven't seen one around here, but I can't imagine using it. Maybe when I'm huge in the winter and it's icy out, then I would consider it. But I'm one of those people who goes straight to the deserted part of the parking lot, I could always use the little extra walk. (I expect that will probably change with a small one in tow.)
No where around here has it. Only BRU and TRU, but we rarely go there (like, almost never, ever, ever). I do as much walking as possible at the end, though. My babies come late, so I figure a little extra exercise can't hurt in moving things up a day or two in the long run.
Most big name stores here have them. When DD was a brand new baby we used them cause it was January and -50c up here. The spots are usually full though....often with people who are too lazy to walk from a regular parking space with their 10 year old kid.
One time when DD was brand new we used one and some woman commented to her husband very loudly that "heh. when we had kids we had to park where everyone else parked" Lovely. Things change. Ideas are thought up. Get over it. LOL I was still cranky with PP hormones.
we have them in a few spots....and i haven't used them yet....take that back, once because it was the only spot open so i was like "We can take it legally" haha.
When I first found out I Was prego with X andrew and I were so excited we used the spot and were cheesing because I literally still had my test in my purse. Well this old lady started yelling how lazy i was and wasn't prego so I shoved my positive test in her face. (seriously i did)
they come in handy when you are really really big like 8-9 months big and cannot walk (and especially us being that big in the winter) i never take them now, unless there are no spots or my nerve is acting up. I have learned never judge anyone that uses them and if they are not showing because you never know what is going on with them (i used one when i was in the middle of my miscarriage because i was bleeding bad too)
They only have expectant mother parking at BRU near us and I use it just because I can lol. I need all the extra time I can get these days when out running errands without my son plus if its super hot or cold I like it.
At a local grocery store I go to they have parking for parents with young children and I use that when I take my son (rare these days because its not so fun haha).
