Last week I was bleeding for a day. I also had cramps and back pain. Yesterday went to Doctors told her what happened. She was concerned so she checked my cervix and said I wasn't in preterm labor which is good. Today go for ultrasound and the tech tells me I have veins on my placenta that are bleeding. Dr won't have results till fri. Anyone else had this not sure what this all means

I had a blood clot(subchorionic Hematoma) in my uterus that was attached to a blood supply(vein) that caused me to hemmorage pretty badly and have a 5 day hospital stay, but it wasn't on my placenta it was more towards my cervix. I hope you get good news when the doctor gets back to you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I have not heard of this either. Did the doctor's office act like it was something that is common? Does it generally work itself out?

If you are concerned, especially if you think you are having something that resembles contractions, I would call your OB today to check. A quick call never hurts! KUP.

What kind of test? Like the doc won't get the u/s until then? That seems like a long time ESP with an issue. I'd call if you are worried to get clarification. I have had several bleeding episodes this time around, With the last one being diagnosed as sub chorionic hematoma, which to my understanding isn't placental veins bleeding.... Because SCH can even be all the way away from the placenta. Mine is under the edge of mine partially, though.

If I were you I'd call and want to speak to a doc ASAP for an explaination.
