Have any of you or do any of you plan on doing a pregnancy photo shoot??

I always see beautiful pregnancy photos online with the belly and hubby and kissing it or whatever. I really wanna get this done, being this will be my only pregnancy, but dont know where to start looking. Last year we had our christmas family photos done at sears, and was not happy with their service at all!

Any reccomendations on when I should get it done (I will be 6 months next week) or where to get it done??? Also, if any of you can show some pics of ones you have gotten done in the past for some ideas, I would appreciate it!

Yep - we're doing ours on Nov 10th! Can't wait!!

I put the question out on my facebook and a few friends recommended photographers. From there i picked my favorite. It worked out perfectly because she was offering mini sessions at reduced rates right around the time we were hoping to have the photos taken.

I honestly don't think we are..at least professionally. However, we have some friends that are amateur photogs, that we thought of asking to do an informal shoot at the Park where I work and love. I think Megan's idea of posting on FB for reco's is a great idea.

Great idea! I have thought about it, but I think I might just do newborn and family photos then. Anyways, I would highly recommend looking around your town at places who specifically offer maternity photo shoots. I know several people who have had professional do the maternity shoots that were used to doing nature and scenery and they didn't have the right feel. Just check around and I am sure you will find the right place with a good feel !!!

I would do it but I didn't with my other kids and I would feel bad doing it for this one. I think I will do the same thing as Wendy and get family pics done afterwards.

I will not be having any professional ones done. I have taken candid ones at home before and will more than likely do that again this time.

I'm going to attempt my own. We'll see how it goes. I love doing maternity sessions, but I've never done a real self portrait so I'm not sure how hard it'll be.

I don't think I'm going to do a maternity shoot but I would like to do a newborn shoot. I think it's more about finding the style you like. Do you like over the top editing? Pictures that expose your stomach? Certain angles? etc etc. You have to find a photographer that compliments your style.

I think the sort of interesting angles and somewhat simple yet artistic look, so if and when we find a newborn photographer it will hopefully be at our home or in a park and none of the newborns in costumes in a studio type thing. Not that, that isn't a nice look if done right, it's just not right for us.

I definitely want to do this, just don't know how/where to find a photographer! I'm gonna try some yelp and google of my area and see what happens.

I think I am going to do something a LITTLE different for our pictures.. as I have posted before I'm doing the halloween baby shower and DH and I are going as gangster and a flapper girl. (so cute) lol and I want to do a photo shoot of us in our costumes!!! I think it would be really neat and different. Have some goofy ones and some nice ones to frame, and I'd like to also use one for our baby shower invite!

Hubby & I are going to get some photos taken of the pregnancy and then photos of the baby after he's born. As for where we're getting it done or when, not sure yet. Most recommend doing it at the 30th week because you have 'full' shape by then. I guess we'll wait and see.

My sister is a photographer, so yep, I had them done last time and will likely do them again this time! you want a nice full belly, so I'd say late in the 7th month or in the 8th month. I tihnk I was about 35-36 weeks. I'd recommend finding an independent photographer who goes on location rather than doing a studio like Sears. I think you'd definitely get good recommendations by asking on facebook.
