Since it's a cold, rainy day i've decided to try to get some progress done on the nursery! It's starting to come together, and even though it's not my dream nursery since we'll be putting the house on the market a few months after the baby is born, i love how it's turning out.
Here is the crib and the wall decal:
Room from the other angle:
My slipcovered la z boy and my $20 craigslist cabinet which i painted:
Inside of the cabinet which i lined with fabric:
My childhood dresser, which i've repainted. Still need to get some hardware for the drawers. All of those clothes need to go in the dresser still, and that shelving unit will be for diapers and extras. I've got cool bins all picked out for it already. Also, the top of the dresser will be used as our changing station. And that purple bag with leopard print is our diaper bag!!
Crib quilt that my mom made:
Back side, all soft and minky!
Painting i did:
Other piece of artwork i did:
Dharma enjoying the new room, while sitting in the chair like a person. What a weirdo...
So it's nearly finished! I still need to finish the cribskirt and the curtains, which i'll probably start cutting out this weekend since it's supposed to be cold and rainy all weekend. I'm pretty much just waiting for my showers to see what we get before i start buying the rest to finish the room.
Our extra bedroom has "retro" owl wallpaper on one of the walls (it was here before we moved here)... We were going to rip it down, but I've since found some super cute owl bedding, and I'm just going to put the big bookshelves against that wall to hide some of it and mute it down.
Love love love!! I am so in love with the Owl painting and the crib blanket! Your mom did an awesome job! I also love the oranges you cordinated into the room!
P.S. Your cat is so fat and cute LOL
Thanks! The orange accents will flow together better when we're in the next house and i actually paint the room. I had bought the paint for the babys room probably in January and had been buying accessories to go with it!!

Thanks!! This is about the only way i get to use the two degrees in art that i have!!!
And Dharma says "Thank you." She is such a fatty roly poly cat. My cats are total opposites, poor Isis only weighs about 5 pounds!
To say this is amazing is an understatement. You have talent my friend. It seriously looks like it should be in a magazine or a blog, at least Pinterest worthy! You should submit to the Cheap & Chic Blog that highlights DIY nurserys. SO COOL!!!
This looks GREAT! I love all the personal touches- the craiglist cabinet you customied, the artwork, the quilt your mom made. Even though you will be moving, everything can pretty much be taken with you.
Oh, and I love that your cat is already hanging out in there
