Many of us were born in the days before women had ultrasounds to determine if they were having a boy or girl. Do you know what your name would have been if you had been a boy? Were there any other girl names your parents considered for you?

If I was a boy I'd be James Michael III. Alternate girl names were Isis and Rochelle, they went with Lee, but Isis would have been cool.

I was going to be named Christopher. After mom had me, my Aunt liked that name and used it for her son. So when my brother arrived 4 years later they had to choose a different one: Nicholas. If he was a girl he would have been named Carly. Oddly enough, 14 years later, my other Aunt named her daughter Carly. My mom thinks of good names

Brian, but i don't remember what middle name they had picked out. My brother was supposed to be born on Easter and the name my father seriously had picked out if he were a girl was Ester Bonnie.

If I were a boy I would have been Stephen. My other girl names were Noelle, Franchesca, Madison, and Brooke (how 80's are some of those? Lol)

Really good and interesting question!

I would have been Brian. My Mom liked Rebecca and Rachel, my Dad pushed for Courtney or Natalie. My mom won with Rachel.

my parents used to tell people that boy or girl, they were naming me zeke mowatt, who at the time was tight end for the ny giants.

honestly though, if i were a boy, they were going to use the name michael. the other girls' name my parents considered was marissa... but they vetoed because they were worried that people would think i was trying to say "melissa" and that i had a lisp. so they went with katelyn. ick.

my husband's father KNEW they were having a boy. he chose the name steffan, and wouldnt take no for an answer... he told my mother-in-law that she could name the baby if it was a girl. he then PAINTED THE ROOM BLUE and started referring to the unborn baby as "steff." my MIL still says that if my husband had ended up being a girl, she would have just picked stephanie because she'd gotten so used to it.

That's how I got my middle name Jahvon. That was suppose to be my first name if I been a boy (but my parents instead gave it to me as my middle name) My dad just knew I was going to be a boy

My mom lost her brother at a young age (I think he was 29) and she was a mess and said she needed something to take care of so her and my dad decided to have another baby. If I was a boy I would have been Billy in honor of my lost uncle. I was almost Billie Jean! Instead they named me Jennifer Lee.

My dad had a dream I was a girl, so they didn't plan any boy names. I've asked my mom that and she said she didn't know, maybe Brad Jr. just because they hadn't thought of one!

Stephen, after my dad. Turns out that Y at the end turns it into Stepheny...

The other girl option was Jessica. My dad nixed that one pretty quickly.
