BabySchultz just posted some adorable 3D shots, and I didnt want to hijack her thread, but who plans on doing an elective 3d ultrasound? (The kind where you go to a non-Dr's office and pay for the session?) Also, BTDT moms- did you do it last pregnancy? Will you do it this time?

Yes, I got a deal on Groupon. I have my 28 week ultrasound to make sure the placenta has moved, which will just be 2D, on October 12. I think I'll do the 3D/4D sometime between 28 and 30 weeks.

Yes we will. I got one with my son and loved it so much. At one point or another during the US my husband started talking and we could watch Brendan smile and shake around...so my husband stopped talking and Brendan stopped...then he got closer to touch my belly and talk directly to him and he did it again. It was the most awesome thing ever to see him really listen to my husband through the belly and be able to see the reaction.

I got a free one at my doctor's office with my first daughter. I didn't do it with my second and won't with this one either. They turn on the 3d machine at my doctor's office and I have a few 3d pics of each girl.

I thought about it, but since it looks like I'm going to have at least 2-3 more ultrasounds with MFM and they aren't going to be cheap, lol, I guess I'll stick with that. I did want to do the 3D since this may be my last baby, but w/e. I'm excited to get to see him either way.

I might just have to bribe the nurse to give me a few 3d shots during my next u/s appointment. Otherwise I probably wont. Between the baby classes I want to take, all the rest of the stuff I need to get for him, and the maternity photo shoot, I think I will be tapped out on the whole baby fund lol.

I'm not doing it, but each time I go in the tech gives us a view in three or four d, don't know which and then prints out a photo of two from that view. It's not a video or anything, but they are some of my favorite photos and I love seeing them!

It would be cool to do a video though, but we just don't have the funds

Yes it is cheap, thankfully. Since my doctor is a high risk Dr.he sees a lot of not so good outcomes so he makes them cheap so everyone can afford it if they want one. He's a great Dr.

We had it done with DD, and paid a pretty penny. I'm having a hard time justifying the cost this time around, even though it was really cool. Especially for DH's sake, bc he can't "feel" the baby so I should at least let him see it! I know he really wants to have it done again so we probably will.
Plus, when the girls get older I don't want to have to explain to them why we have 3d pics and video of one but not the other.

No. I'm comfortable with waiting until the baby is born to see it in 3d.

I really wanted to with DS but we just couldn't afford it.

Since we had one at 14.4wks with this one idk if we'll do another. It'd only be $100 but I figure I'm getting atleast 2 more U/S at my DR so I could use that $100 toward DS's birthday or Christmas. I think I'll just ask my Dr. office if they could turn on the 3D for just a minute

No, too expensive up here. I don't think they even have the machines in the dr offices here I think you have to go somewhere special. I've never been offered to see or pay to see baby in 3D. Although I would reeeeeeally like to.
