Got the call from my OB today and I passed my Three Hour Gestational Diabetes Test!!!! I am so happy and literally let out the biggest sigh of relief that I didn't even realize I had been holding in for days. I really thought with my inital numbers that I had GD and while I was ready to accept the changes I would have to make, I wasn't looking forward to the process obviously.

I'm not going to go all free for all though now. I am taking this as a wake up call that while I wasn't eating too terribly, I need to improve, less sugar, more veggies and protein, and more exercising! Gotta walk more! I did give myself a little treat though and got a Caramel Frap from Starbucks (but with skim milk and only a little whipped cream--it's a start!)

Anyway thanks everyone for the support and dealing with my anxieties. I am just really thankful that I do not have it, but am taking this as a learning experience!

YAY! So glad you passed. I am dreading my test...which I suspect I will learn when that will be on Monday. I'm sure it's not far off. I have been eating pretty horribly at night, but hoping that my daytime foodies are making up for it.

Great news! x

The good news is that the test really isn't influenced by your diet beforehand. There are women who eat fast food all day every day that pass and women who work out and eat no processed sugar and fail. It's more about your hormones and your pancreas and how it processes sugar. Now obviously if you have GD you have to curb your sugar intake to help your body out and to keep your baby healthy. But either way, pregnancy is not an excuse to eat junk and I think I have done that a little too much. It's about balance. I tend to fall apart at night as well, but I'm going to try and let myself have one little treat at night to satisfy my sweet tooth, but not like a pack of cookies.

I'm sure you'll be fine

woohoo! that's great news. I've been waiting 6 days now for my results, I'm guessing no news is good news but i'll probably find out tomorrow at my normal check up.

Thats awesome news! I'm so happy for you. I know I would have been super worried about it too! I am hoping I pass mine..I think I should know by the end of this week, but I hate the.. "we'll call you if it's something bad, if we don't call you passed"... because then you just sit and wait. I wish they would call you either way.

Soooo glad things worked out for you!

Yay that's great news!!! I am hoping to hear about my 1 hour results either today or tomorrow. I am really nervous, but I think I'm more nervous about the possibility of having to take the 3-hour than I am about actually having GD, lol. If I fail the 1-hour I am considering just going straight to the GD diet and monitoring my blood sugar 4x / day instead of doing the 3-hour.

I guess it depends. I mean I would rather know I don't have it than wonder for 15 more weeks if I have it or not. I mean the test sucks, but you have to go in with a mind over matter attitude. I'm just glad that I know for sure, but I'm a need to know all the facts kind of girl. Of course, either way, I am going to alter my diet a bit.

I really wonder though if the screw up that happened before my 1 hour, they gave me instructions for the 3 hour test so I did the carbo loading and the fasting, I wonder if that messed up my results. Maybe, maybe not. Or possibly I just take a little bit longer to process. Who knows.

Anyway I hope you pass so you don't have to worry about the 3 hour test!

Ugh me too. FedEx just called because I was having an issue with a delivery, but my phone just said "Blocked" and that's the same thing the doctor's office says when they call and I freaked out so much I couldn't answer it, LOL. I probably won't hear until my appt. tomorrow so I'm sure my blood pressure is going to be AWESOME. I'm such a worrier.

I Celebrated by getting some new tops and bottoms from MM. I feel a bit guilty about what I spent but I am looking at them as investing pieces. Hey 2 pairs of skinny jeans, two long sleeved tops, a dressy short sleeved top, and a cami for under 200$ isnt bad!

God I hope my DH doesn't look at our bank statement for a few days lol
