My ob actually said that she felt sorry for me! I'm measuring 39 weeks!! (I'll only be 34 weeks tomorrow) She said no wonder you feel so much pressure- he's a big baby and his head is at station -1!

She went ahead and checked me and said that I was 1-2 cm dilated and 40% effaced. She doesn't think that I'm in any danger of going into labor this week or next so she went ahead and scheduled me for another appointment. Also she said I can keep working (I was secretly hoping she'd take me out- oh well!)

So maybe that Madame whats-her-name-predictor is right; he'll weigh 14 lbs!!

You must be uncomfortable! Hopefully you get to 37 weeks and then he will decide to come, although you might be measuring 42 weeks by then . You've got a big healthy guy there!

Nothing but sympathy from me! I'm currently 41 cm...bigger than I've measured at birth with any if my other kids! Yay big babies? If it makes you feel any better, my grandpa was a twelve pound baby, and his mother always insisted he was her easiest of six births: toddlers can crawl out by themselves!
Hopefully neither one of us has to get to full term and risk exploding. Lol.

You are cooking a linebacker in there! Holy moly! Does she seem to think that they will induce you or something early? Are you going to go to 40 weeks (or if we're going by what you're measuring 50 weeks!?)

ah!!

Oh my goodness!!! Atleast you know your body is making nice progress so you may have him at 37wks

I was going to ask the same as Mere, will they try to induce you before 40wks or just let ya go, if thats what you want?

They think I'll probably go early. With Tori my water broke on it's own at 36 weeks. She was 7 lbs and perfect. What they usually do is another U/S at 38 weeks (if I make it!) and then decide whether or not to induce. If I go into labor she said they will probably try to do an U/S at the hospital to determine of he will fit thru the birth canal. If he's too big they'll probably do a c-section.

Wowzers! Someone is enjoying their stay in Chez Womb! Maybe you'll be like me and "shrink." I measured 4 weeks ahead, but then at my next appt I was back down to my "correct" measurement. Baby position can make a big difference.

My mom said her 10 lbs 14 oz'er was by far her easiest labor and delivery. And she did a natural birth that time, too. I was there and it was amazingly peaceful. So, take comfort knowing even if he is big, things can still go quite smoothly!

I totally sympathize with you. I am also measuring 40 weeks and I feel like my girly bits are about to break off.

Hang in there girl. It's all worth it in the end!
