Just got back from my 34 week apt. I'm up 3 pounds putting my total weight gain at 28 pounds. Trying not to stress out over it. I'm not eating like a wild woman, I am getting my fruits, veggies and protein, attempting to walk to get some exercise, it is what it is. BP was normal, Vivi's heartrate was great and she is head down and my OB said she has no place to move so she is staying there! My belly measured 35cm and he said by the measurements and looks of things, I will most likely have a normal sized baby, somewhere in the mid 7's which is fine by me!

Also, some good info I got from him that might help others suffering from a lot of lower pressure and pain. Apparently it's all very normal and it has to do with the pubic bone softening and pulling apart so that cartalege is all super sensitive and therefore painful. It also doesn't help to have a baby pushing on it all the time!

I have to say I was almost disappointed I didn't get an internal check although I know I will at 36 weeks. I think this is a difficult time in pregnancy because you want something to be happening, but you know that the best news you could receive at an apt is that basically nothing different is going on. Oh well, I'm just happy my baby is healthy and enjoying her head down position!

Thanks girls

Honestly I cannot wait for the next apt because I want to see if anything is starting to happen! I realize that I can't get my hopes up, but even starting to thin or something would be progress! I don't want her to come early, early, but hey I'll take anytihng after she hits full term.

Although I know he can't be 100% sure, hearing the OB say I am going to most likely have a normal sized baby in the 7 lb range is reasuring. My DH and I were both 6lbs 11 or 12 oz at birth but now my DH is a big burly man and I keep looking at him and feeling my lady garden recoil in fear that she will have to push out something with those shoulders! lol

Glad to hear things went well! And you got to find out about how big the baby will be!! That's good news! My Dr. never tells me anything about baby weight just measures the tummy and says..ok you're good..see you next time but I agree no news is good news!! ..on to the next appointment!

Usually my Dr says nothing, but I jokingly (sort of) questioned my ability to birth this baby since my hips are still narrow! He said that somehow that baby is coming up and that not to worry, everything appears in a way that this will be a normal sized baby and then gave the figures for a normal sized baby and where I would fall. So apparently projecting your inability to deliver vaginally is a great way to get a weight estimate! haha

Glad to hear you had a great appointment. Your weight gain is perfect at this point. Vivi is doing exactly like she should and being a good baby girl.

Just for the record my 8 lb 9 oz baby took 1.5 pushes to birth and my 7lb 10 oz baby took 20 minutes of pushing. I really believe it's more the size of the babies head, position and your hips more than baby's weight on how easy it is to birth them. Don't worry, your body was MADE to give birth and you will do great.

No news is good news, right? As for the weight gain, you're still totally within normal range. And truly, if you're breastfeeding and eating healthful foods during that, the weight often does drop right off. And I've seen pictures of you pregnant. I can't see an ounce out of place. I'm jealous.

Yay for a good appointment! And don't worry about your weight gain. I know it's hard but if the doctors not worried then you shouldn't be worried. Your eating healthy and Vivi is getting what she needs and that's all that matters!

Thanks I think I probably feel bigger, but it's hard to see your body change like that, especially that scale! Also, I think I put pressure on myself because my SIL gained in a normal range and lost it all days after having her baby. I know I can't compare body types but it can be hard.

Thanks buddy

As far as I know the only thing that was measuring a lot longer at 28 weeks were her legs, which I'm ok with! Her head is a bit bigger but nothing extreme TG!

That's what I'm trying to remember when it comes to labor, delivery, breastfeeding, etc. I can read and buy all I want, but at the end of the day, my body was designed to bear and feed a child. I can do this!
