Ohhhhhhhh, I wish that I could say the same! Though, the 2x a day Pepcid is working. I hate acid reflux! But I hated it even more when it was happening all day long too! Glad you found something that worked!

Thanks! I was getting to where I was going through a big bottle of tums within 2-3 days!

He prescribed Omeprazole, its a generic version of something but I'm not sure what. Maybe you could try that?

That's Prilosec...my doctor said to try the 2x a day Pepcid for a few weeks first, and if that doesn't work, she was going to prescribe the same thing. So far, it's doing the trick, though, so I'm hoping I don't have to "upgrade". I have LOTS of mommy friends who couldn't live with out their Prilosec!

Oh okay, thats what I was thinking it was but wasn't sure since he said he was going to prescribe Zantac.

Hopefully what you have will continue to work though! This one you just take 1x a day before breakfast

My doctor encouraged me to take Pepcid 2x day! It took a few days for it to build up, but now it's working pretty darned well!

!!! I am jealous! If Dh hadn't worked late and walked in the door at midnight I would have had some Zantac instead of gagging down 3 or 4 tums. So glad you got some relief!!

I was getting tired of taking nasty tums lol and the fact that it doesn't help half the time, or atleast not for acid reflux.

Tums are child's play at this point for me. They don't do a thing.

I find that 2X Zantac helps a bit and I do some Maalox inbetween. I look pretty scary chugging out of a Maalox bottle but I've figured out what the right dosage feels like, scarily enough haha

Lucky! I can never get my non-pregnant reflux under control, so when I'm pregnant, UGH! AND DH now has reflux. He's hoping that it's just "sympathy reflux".

I am right there with you girls! It's terrible. I've never had it this bad...and this is pregnancy #5! There are times where the pain gets so intense that I swear I have tears in my eyes. DH ran to Subway and Walmart before I left for work this evening and he grabbed me some Zantac 75 (and Subway, Subway cookies, and ice cream!) and what do you know...I leave the house without it. Ugh!

Tums/Rolaids are a lost cause now...even when I was chowing on those darn things it didn't do much. I'm a wimp and can't even stand the thought of drinking anything!
