I just took Motrin to bring it down, it's 100.1. That's safe right? I've taken it in pregnancy before, but now I found something that says not to. I haven't thrown up since this morning, but now this. Should I bug the on call doctor? I'm drinking gatorade and eating ice.
Hi im from the Feb DDC, I would not recommend motrin or any NSAIDS as they can thin out blood which can harm placenta profusion. I would stick to tylenol, as an RN that is what we recommend only during pregnancy. Hope you feel better soon!
One time won't hurt you, but stick to Tylenol from here on out.
Take a cool bath, drink tons of clear fluids, and keep an eye on it. My fever didn't last more than a few days, but it felt like I had it for a few days after (although I never actually recorded a fever.)
Rest as much as you can. It's your body just trying to get rid of whatever you have going on.
I went through this crap last week. NO fun at all.
DONT TAKE ANY MORE MOTRIN! I have a medical issue going on and they will not allow me to take any anti inflammatory (ibuprofen, naproxen etc.) because it can cause clotting issues in the baby and placenta issues too! Take Tylenol. A fever for a couple of days is ok if its manageable with Tylenol and it also depends on your other symptoms.
