I did last time, I was only 2cm dialated when I tried and few hours after I went to the hospital and was 4cm and stayed, I will do it again once i start having real contractions to help speed things along.
It's an interesting thing to try! I've mostly read that you would have to do it for like hours a day to maybe have something happen (which is an interesting/funny visual image), but that it doesn't really do anything more than women that drive over speed bumps fast or DTD to jumpstart labor. I think the baby will come at his or her own time no matter what!
I thought about doing this, but read how much you would have to do to actually get things started. Since I plan on BFing, I don't need sore nipples before baby is born as I am sure that will make BFing a little more difficult for me.
I think that it's another thing that, if you're already in labor, it will help things along. If not, if you do a ridiculous amount of it, then you might start something. I've had several women who have been in pre-labor for a bit tell me that they sat in a warm bath and did this for...a loooong time...and got the party started!
I won't be doing it! I giggle at myself just trying to get the boobs situated in my bra. I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't last long doing this.
Just curious... did you use your hands (or DHs hands lol) or a breast pump? Ive read that if doing it by hand takes hours to get anything going but if you use your pump it starts contractions pretty quick
I tried it with my last two kids. I do think it helped with my daughter, but only because my body was ready. I'll probably try it again this time when I'm full term and my mom is here to watch the older kids. I definitely get tons of BH/contractions whenever anything goes near my nipples, lol. Even just giving them a squeeze to see if I have any milk yet can set it off, so I'm scared to touch them for now, lol.
