Finally got everybody under one roof!! I took Eli to the pediatrician this morning so they could weigh him and check his jaundice. He gained 2 oz since Friday and his coloring looked so good they didn't even need to check his bili levels They told me that I could bring him home as long as I kept him away from DH & DD until they were symptom free. I'm washing my hands religiously and still refraining from kissing his face or breathing on him too much. I feel almost 100% better- tummy troubles are gone; appetite is still meh.

DH is at about 80% and feels like he should be able to return to work on Wednesday. DD is a toss up. She has no diarrhea but she still isn't able to keep solid food down. She had a couple of Saltines last night for dinner and threw up all over her bed at midnight She's been fine all day today though. She had her nutritional drink (Kids Boost) this morning and did fine with that. We've been keeping her hydrated as much as possible, but she really dislikes Gatorade and Pedialyte. We'll see how she does. She really hates missing school these last few days- they had all these fun holiday activities planned

So, the new challenge I spoke of...wanted to see if anyone here has been thru this. When the pedi examined Eli this morning, she heard a slight murmur in his heart. It was enough for her to give me a short list of pediatric cardiologists. I have called and have an appointment on January 2nd. I have been too busy since I've got home to Google it and personally, I don't want to because I'm scared to. Please let me know if anyone has had any experience with this. It seemed like this was just a precaution.

So glad you are all home now, hoping you are all 100% soon!

I have heard that a number of babies have murmurs, but often they clear up on their own and aren't a large concern. I am fairly sure either me or my siblings had a heart murmur and it eventually went away. Hoping it is nothing for your little one.

I am SO glad to know that you are all home, and on the mend. My brother, SIL, and 1 year old niece just had that bug run through their house. They were all miserable, but it wasn't long lasting, thank goodness. Hopefully DD will be able to keep foods down before long (have you tried Pedialyte popsicles with her? I know she doesn't like the drink, but maybe the popsicles?)

I don't know anything about murmurs (in humans...I know plenty about them in dogs!), but I am hoping it is just a precaution. Big hugs, and thanks for the check in! x

its just a precaution! Most murmurs in babies are completely harmless and eventually disappear
I hope everyone feels better soon!

So glad everyone is home and I hope well on the mend. Our DC4 couldn't keep anything down for a few days when he got sick after Thanksgiving and it was nerve-wracking. He's fine now. Keeping your family in my thoughts

DC2 had a heart murmur as an infant that resolved by toddlerhood. I would get it checked if your doctor feels it's advisable but try not to worry too much!

My nephew has one and he just has to be monitored every six months with an echo cardiogram and it gets smaller everytime. They expect it to fully close.

First of all, glad everyone is home and hopefully on the mend.

Secondly, Lucy has a mur mur too!! From what I gather, it's nothing to be too worried about, as many close up as baby grows. We'll be seeing a specialist in January as well.
I know other momma's from my DDC with dd1, whose babies had mur-Murs as well. I'm typing with one hand, maybe we can PM if you want? I'm sure your just as busy as I am!!!

My son had a slight murmur when born. We went to a specialist and they said everything was fine. THey actually said many infants have normal murmurs. Hoping all goes well for you. You really deserve a break!!!!
