Ok, so tonight was my 39 week appointment. Last week I had no dilation and no signs of labor. Tonight I was 1 cm dialted.....not a big deal I know. He really got in there and it hurt!!! So, he pretty much tells me that I can go anytime because everyone dilates different. I have an appointment next Thursday which would make me 40+1 day for an NST and if still pregnant we would schedule an induction before 41 weeks. He said he typically dosen't let it go past 41 weeks.

Mucus Plug?!

So, I get home and all sore......go and use the bathroom and urinate, stand up and look in the toilet and I see a huge snot looking mucus thing with a pink/red tint to it! Is my mucus plug? Could he have jammed that right out of me today? What does this mean in terms of labor? I never lost my plug with the other two...........

Sounds like it could be your plug!

As far as labor goes, losing your mucus plug doesn't really mean a whole lot. I lost a bunch of mine at 36 weeks, but nothing happened. It must have regenerated because I lost a huge gob yesterday and have seen more every time I've used the restroom since then.

I hope it means things are moving along for both of us!

I've never lost my mucous plug, so no ideas on that front...

As for dilating, I never dilate much until I am in labor. My last was the most- 1cm- when I went into labor. Haha. I don't really rely on how "ready" my cervix is as to when I'll have the baby.

Good luck! I hope it is soon for you!
