Has anyone noticed a face rash on their baby?

My DH thinks it's just heat rash or prickly heat but I though that only happened in the summer.

Sophia has this pimple like cluster rash around her ears (well the ear area is more of a very rough dry patch), her cheeks and a little on her forhead. It has been there for a few days and dosen't seem to bother her. It looked better on one side yesterday and now today the other side looks worse. I was thinking of calling the pedi but if it's nothing I don't want to call cause they will prob tell me to come in. I do have an appt next Wednesday. What do you all think?

Aaron had hardcore prickly heat until I started dressing him more lightly at night. I'd been putting him in a cotton footie and then his fleece swaddle but that was too hot - now he goes in just a diaper under the fleece swaddle, and the rash is gone. So yeah, they can get prickly heat in winter I wasn't expecting that.

My LO got a rash like yours but it was from changing her formula. We switched her and she woke up broken out every where. Once we changed back it started to crust and go away. Did you change anything?

harvey had it too, just like you described-- i took him out of his onesie this morning and had him hanging out all day today in just his diaper (with a light blanket for when i'd notice his toes feel cold)--- it has already cleared up completely. i guess i had him bundled up too warm!

Huh. We seem to notice this on one side of Baxter's face when he is laying on DHs chest. We switched our detergent so now we are washing our clothes in baby's detergent and that seems to have fixed it.

You know this makes sense. Sophia LOVES to sleep on my chest, but switches sides where her fac leans......I could possibly be my shirt.....I am going to wash all out clothes in Dreft which is what I wash her clothes with and see if that makes a difference.

I was going to say possibly an allergy. If its detergent then that's no so bad but yeah, you pretty much have to wash your clothes in the baby's detergent since they lay their face on you. If that doesn't fix it, it could be eczema from a food allergy (milk if formula fed....anything if breastfed). I'm worrying about food allergy with mine. She's had rashes near her ears but also on her chest and back. I'm EBF and trying to cut dairy from my diet but also washing her stuff in All Free and Clear. Me and my DS have food allergies. I was really hoping she wouldn't get them.

A company called Norwex makes an antibaterial baby cloth. It will clear up baby rash on their faces or bottoms. I use on my little one and have had awesome results! Let me know if anyone is interested. I can give you more info.

Her rash looks about 60% better today so it's prob not her formula. It could be the detergent on my clothes though cause the last 2 nights she didn't sleep on my chest. I am going to wash all our clothes with Dreft and see if that makes a difference...or maybe it was just prickly heat. We shall see!
