Since formula is an expense I wasn't planning on I've been scouring the internet for coupons and deals.

Where have you FFing moms been finding the best deal? Do you trust generic brands as much as the name brands?

We stick with Similac Advanced Powder. It seems to work well for her. We are big on couponing and saving money and we found SAMs Club is the best bang for your buck. After that WalMart and diapers.com have the best prices plus you can get more stuff on diapers.com to qualify for free shipping and stuff.

I haven't really found anyplace yet that has better deals then another. I usually end up picking up my formula at BRU or I send DH on his way home from work and he usually just gets it at the supermarket.......I have to look for sales.

If it matters I've noticed formula is $3 cheaper at Wal-Mart than BUR.

We were using similac advance but i switched him to walmarts generic version. Formla is regulated by the fda and my ds was on generic formula when i stopped bfing. He turned out fine. Jamison is growing properly. I get the large package that makes 64 four oz bottles. Much cheaperthan name brands even if i were to use coupons. Ingredients are similar.

We're royally screwed on the formula cost end since he's on Enfamil Nutramigen. Everywhere we go it's $30+ no matter what. Because he is already eating 5-6 oz per feeding we are going thru 2 and a half of the big size cans a week- that's over $90 on formula per week! That's about as much as we spend on groceries each week for just me, DH & DD alone.

There is no Gerber or generic equivalent, and we checked to see if our insurance would cover it but they don't. But he's happy and doing well so that's what matters most. I signed up my mom & MIL for Enfamil so I can get more of those $5 checks each month.

I signed up for Similac coupons and if anyone needs those I will gladly pass along what I get.

I saw something for Gerber this morning on FB. The picture showed formula coupons so I went ahead and signed up. I'll let you know if I get anything within the next few weeks.

If it's cool with you guys I'm going to start a coupon exchange thread tomorrow. I went through my coupons and have a few I'd like to get rid of.

I've been using coupons and purchasing the formula (Nutramigen) from Meijer's. The last coupon I had was from Nutramigen itself for $5.00 off, which was a HUGE help! Wal-Mart is roughly the same prices on their Formula as Meijer. I take advantage of every coupon (especially if it can be doubled or tripled) as possible.

Regarding the Generic...for us? Absolutely not. I've read the stats on the sides of the containers and I won't risk it. When it comes to our son, since I don't make enough milk I want to make sure he gets the absolute BEST formula I can get him. So I refuse to reduce some of the minerals and nutrients in the formula just to save on a generic, I want David to have the best. So we've been paying the premium price for Nutramigen (since it's the most expensive formula available here) to ensure he's getting the best nutritional values he can. That's what sucks about me not producing enough milk.

Thanks! I went to Walmart last night and her formula was $23.98 compared to $26.99 at BRU.

I agree with you 100% about the generic. Generics are good for many things but baby formula I think I would be too scared to try!
