How often will you get LO's pictures professionally done?

Is newborn, 3, 6 ,9, and 12 mos the norm? I think that's what I plan on doing.

With my other kids I did hospital photos, 6 weeks and then 1 year. With Sophia I wasn't able to do hospital cause she had jaundice and was under the lights so I did my own when we got home. I also did my own 6 weeks since I don't want to take her out in public yet because of the cold weather and the flu epidemic. My own pics came out really cute too. I will def do Christmas phots with all three kids and then 1 year for her too professionally.

With DS1 we did professional ones at 5months and then 13 months so I'll do the same for DS2. I do take several pics of him at different months though that turned out pretty good so I'll do the same with DS2.

Every three months is always my plan...

With DD1 I did 8 wks, 3 Mon, 6 Mon, 9 Mon, then 1 yr.
DS & DD2 I did 3 Mon, 8 Mon, & 1 yr.

With Clairre we did newborn photos and we just did family photos at 5 wks. A friend of mine has taken up photography part-time, so she has come to the house which has made it so much easier. I am planning on having her come at 3 month intervals.

I only had regular portraits done of my first baby. That isn't to say that I don't have gorgeous photos of all my kids... But they're not professional, and they weren't done on a schedule. Actually, my fave pic of Garvin ever was done in his nursery class at church, for their attendance board, and my fave one of Gwen was taken by a friend at my wedding.
Now that my older kids are school age, they have portraits done at school, of course, and I hate most of them . lol.

I do my own so I'm hoping to do them often. It's terrible how hard it is for me to photograph my own kids though, because I'm so busy photographing clients that I get tired of picking up the camera and just want a break from it when I have free time.

We've gotten some pretty good ones on our own but maybe when she's a year old we'll do some professionals. I love pro work, but we just don't have the money to spend on it

I'll probably just do them on my own. Occasionally get some use out of that college degree that I have!

This summer we'll probably have a family session done.

The hardest part for me is walking away without all the shots! We did 3 weeks and ill do 3,6, 9, and 1 year. I just have to remind myself i don't need 10 poses and these are for DH and i, not the rest of the family.

We can't afford that many sessions a year. With DD we did 3 days, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and a year all with my Eeyore! I just shot these in my house and they worked just as well...until she got too big to hold still! LOL! Here's how they turned out...I wish I'd done my photography classes before I had her otherwise they'd have been better.

3 days old

3 months old

6 months old

9 months old

12 months old

Oh my goodness those pictures are so adorable!!! Precious.

I got the overpriced hospital newborn ones. Got for the first so had to get for the rest, ya know? I get their pictures taken again at 6 months. I really wish I could've gotten those cutesy newborn professional pictures taken, but I feel guilty I didn't have for the first... so I never got them for Dominic and never got them for Jamison. Just never had the money for the first baby. Oh well we have tons of other pictures of the kids that hold memories so that's all that matters.

My sis is a photographer and does monthly for her kids, nieces and nephews. She has a baby plan package for N, 4, 8, 1y.

We just did photos yesterday and I can't wait to get them back ;-)

Of all the schedules I like the n, 4, 8, 1yr the best.

We're doing photos every month up to 1 year. Then I am sure we'll slow down on the photo sessions. I want to have one of those newborn - 1 year photo frames with photos for each month, which is why we're doing that. :-D

We just got the 'jail uniform' onesie that says "I've been inside for 9 months" and we're going to have one made with my hubby in uniform, holding David in the "jail uniform"...I think that'll be SO CUTE!
