I decided to kill 2 birds with one stone and send out the announcements and the shower/gift thank you's in one envelope. I got a $20 giftcard to Shutterfly in one of my gifts and decided to play around with it and create an announcement. Then I went to the checkout and performed some coupon magic. I began with 50 cards for $45. Then I applied my gift card and stacked some other coupon codes and wound up with a total of $15
Any one else do these? Anyone else already sent theirs?
I have been working on ideas the past week or so. We have a ton of shutterfly $20 cards that we've gotten various places, and i've saved them for this purpose. We are waiting to get the digital files from our photographer first, though, so we can use one of those pictures for the announcement! I'll be happy to have them out by the end of March
I did my baby announcements at shutterfly as well and total was 50 dollars. I had two 20 dollar cards I got from other free stuff during pregnancy and just an FYI you cannot apply both cards at once. :/
Oops I totally forgot about birth announcements! I planned to do a joint birth announcement/happy new year card, bc I never got to do Christmas cards with Lucy's early arrival. And now I've dropped the ball again. I guess I could make something. Maybe. I'm still so overwhelmed with two kiddos.
I haven't done annoucments either. I try to be fair though with the kids and I didn't do them with DS1 because I didn't think about it. Plus I honestly haven't even thought about it this time around either.
I didn't print mine either. Most people I know do them, and they're nice to get in the mail. I designed one, but was waiting for him to come home before sending them, and that took so long that by then everyone already knew and I'd shared photos all around, so I didn't end up printing them.
I didn't realize there were so many awesome coupons out there for this, though, so this is really helpful. And I hadn't though about making a nice baptism invitation, but that's a great idea.
