Annabella is a couple days shy of being 6 weeks old and I'm wondering if its possible for babies this young to try to fight sleep or is something wrong? Sometimes she will be dosing off and wake herself up by grunting etc and several times before drifting off she seems to wake and fuss a bit. dont know if something is bothering her or if she is already fighting sleep. She does this maybe twice a day. What do u guys think? Anyone else's LO do this as well?

I notice this on occasion, yet it's never at the same time of day. Many times, it's in the late evening, if we get "off" on his feeding schedule, and he ends up going to bed late. Then he'll get over tired and fight it. When I notice the grunting, I have tried gripe water, and within minutes, I'll get huge farts, so I know it was gas

I'm fairly certain my 5 week old fights sleep. I can hear her desperately tired cry and she won't sleep.

Definitely possible. Evan has done this 2 days in a row this week. It has led to longer periods of sleep at night. He fought it yesterday and finally went down at 930 and slept till 230!

I think they can fight going to sleep or at the very least don't know how to self soothe to make themselves go to sleep peacefully. Peyton still won't go to sleep ever on her own. She also doesn't stay asleep unless she is being held or we are laying side by side touching.

Pretty sure its possible. Marshall has some nights where he hasn't slept all evening and then it gets to be about 9:30 and he gets fussy and his eyes are red on the lids like he's very tired.
