Latham doesn't fit....not one bit. His thigh won't even go in the spot. I wonder if there is any other seat available to help him gain strength?

Uh-oh! Now you got me wondering if Eli will fit...I was going to get him one in the next few weeks. Wonder if they'll let him "test drive" it first.

I have the mamas and papas version called the Snug. It converts as they grow...maybe that would work?

Now that I'm at a computer, here is the seat we have. He can't use it quite yet, but I did put him in it to see if he will fit. He's a pretty skinny baby though, but the leg openings look really wide to me. Maybe if you can find somewhere local to you that has it in stock, you can test drive it?

You could always not use one if you wanted. I used one once with DS1 and didn't like the one we had so never used it again and he was sitting up by himself by 5 1/2 months. It wasn't an actual Bumbo though, something weird DH found at a yardsale lol

Might be a little harder to work with him though having two kids. Thats why I got an acutal Bumbo this time around to try out.

That's crazy! Both my 3 year old and 5 year old have been sitting in our watching tv since Peyton is still too wobbly to use it.

well...between you ladies and I ....I got him in it just had to have Madison pull the bumbo to get him out while I held him! Madison never fit in hers by the time she was old enough to actually try her in it. I may just keep an eye out and go from there!

There are a few options if you're wanting to use a similar baby seat type thing.

Summer Infant

bebePOD there are fancier versions of this too.

and the one Karen linked above.

My DS was one who's legs got too fat too fast to really use the bumbo. But he was an early sitter and liked to sit unassisted just after 4 months. So we usually set him up with the boppy around him and let him do his thing. Poor kid couldn't roll because he was too fat, but he could at least sit up and see the world around him!
