We have been putting Ember in her jumparoo since she was right around 2 months old. She has crazy head control, so we put her in there and she loves it. At first we put a soft blanket in the seat in case she threw her head forward and we used a patio seat cushion so she could touch. Her tip toes now touch the ground and she just loves bouncing.
Eli goes absolutely nuts in his! His feet can't reach the floor even on the lowest setting yet but we slip a pillow under it when he gets in. My mom found this one at Goodwill for $7.00!! It looked like it had never been used before!
We didn't get Sophia an exersaucer yet but DS had one and loved it so we will prob get her one but not yet......however, we just got this the other day, haven't used it yet cause it says 4 months and up but can't wait to use it. It's a safer alternative to a bumbo seat with plenty of toys!
His neck strength is good, so last week we started him in the Jumper. First time he kind of leaned back and forth, but by the second time he totally got it and was jumping away. I thought it would be a good way to get a few things done, but all I did was watch him play, because that was more fun than washing dishes.
Lucy is doing well with her head control but not quite ready for the jumperoo yet.
DD1 loved that thing, she played in it well into her babyhood. It was a sad day when we put it away, so I'm excited to take it back out. It'll be a walk down memory lane for her! I'm guessing Lucy will be more ready for it closer to June, when she is... yikes, 6 months old!!!
Taylor has great head control and does well in the bumbo, but we have only put her in the jumperoo once when we were clearing out her room to make room for my nephews this summer. She was definitely interested in it, but her toes just barely touched the ground, so she was dangling, and I don't like that. If we put her in again soon, we'll have to put something under it. She does love standing on our laps, so I bet she'd love standing in it!
~Kasi~ Mommy to Sean Elliot and Taylor Joelle!
We have been using the saucer for awhile, about a month. We have to prop towels underneath so her feet reach the bottom- I worry about her circulation. She can't reach the toys, but she talks to them and gets very excited. We used it before she had head control by propping blankets (close supervision) behind her. Now, she has plenty of head control. She's 3.5 months, and will even try to stand up in it. She has the leg strength, but no core or balance. She LOVES the saucer. ABSOLUTELY loves it!
We also have a bumbo we started using about a week ago. She'll sit in it and hang out for about 30 minutes at a time before fussing. She likes to be able to look around. We had her baptism Sunday and had about 40 people over. She stuck her in the bumbo and she just watched the crowd for an hour.
We have an exersaucer but he will only sit in it for a few minutes before getting angry. I'm going to get him a jumperoo soon. And I really like that thing Gina linked so I think I might get one of those. I need something super portable that we can take in and out with us when we go out to the pool.
